Daniel's Law: What NJ Businesses Need to Know

Daniel's Law: What NJ Businesses Need to Know
Wednesday, October 1, 2025 (9:00 AM - 10:00 AM) (EDT)
Description
The floodgates have been opened on businesses — large, small and across industries — exposing them to hefty money damages that can jeopardize their ability to operate.
It's the result of recent changes to New Jersey's Daniel's Law that was originally designed to protect judges, law enforcement and other public servants from public online disclosure of their home addresses and telephone numbers.
Yet, despite its noble purpose, the current law has made compliance nearly impossible — which the federal Third Circuit Court of Appeals has acknowledged "seems to make [businesses and individuals] liable without fault" — and led to nearly 200 lawsuits seeking billions in damages.
In this session, you will learn:
- What is Daniel's Law and how it impacts your business
- What is your company's potential legal exposure
- What you need to know about compliance
- How ongoing court challenges = greater uncertainty for your business
